MYTS concert:

Cast list for the MYTS concert on Saturday 31st March 2012.

Lyrics and lyrics for solos now available.

Laura and Roger have made piano accompaniments available at www.softfox.com/myts. If you cannot remember the username and password, you will need to email Laura for details.

Laura will be bringing CDs for each group to rehearsals, so if you have a CD player that you can bring along that would be really useful.

Tickets for Les Mis: posted 22nd December 2011

Performance of Children of Eden

MYTS are offering an 'early bird' to all members… the option to purchase tickets directly from us up until the end of February 2012 at a reduced rate (see below table).

Not only will you be saving £1 on each ticket, in addition you can choose the best seat on the Gatehouse seating plan before it is released to the general public. This will be based on a 'first come, first served' basis and will commence on the first Friday back in the New Year up until the end of February.

Full payment and a completed booking form will need to be placed at the time of ordering your tickets, either by cash or cheque. Tickets will then be ready for collection through MYTS at John Wheeldon School by the end of March.

You will still be able to order tickets direct from us after the end of February on Friday evenings or alternatively by e-mailing tickets@myts.org.uk. Although these will be at the normal price, our Society will benefit by £1 per ticket, as the Gatehouse charge MYTS this as commission for every ticket sold.

Tickets will not be available for purchase at the reduced rate from the Gatehouse Theatre.

Please remember that if you did not get the role you wanted, it is not because you weren't good enough, it is just because you weren't what we were looking for this time. The standard was so high you gave us a lot of very difficult decisions!

Apology

The audition panel unintentionally left 2 people off the cast list, despite checking and double checking it. They are terribly sorry for any upset that this caused.

Performance of Children of Eden

As we are sure you will be aware, the next MYTS production in July 2012 is
‘Les Miserables - School Edition’.

We feel sure that many of you will know the story and be aware of the characters
and the dialogue.

However, as a committee we feel it appropriate to advise you that the musical contains scenes and songs of an adult nature even though it is the school edition.

For more information on the show please visit the following web sites:
Josef-weinberger: Les miserables
Wikipedia: Les Miserables

If you would like to discuss any concerns you may have regarding the show please contact Sarah Bishop or a member of the committee.

Behaviour policy: updated 2nd September 2011

We had several issues with poor behaviour from some members last term and we will be enforcing the policy again – please read the following policy and be aware of the consequences.

Behaviour will be monitored very closely leading up to auditions for Les Miserables and bad behaviour could affect whether you are allowed to audition for a principal role. Continued bad behaviour may even result in members being asked to leave the society.

Behaviour policy:Performance of Children of Eden

  • Members must attend all rehearsals unless reasonable explanation is given. If 3 rehearsals are missed without reasonable explanation, MYTS will presume the member has left and they will take no further part in the production.
  • If a member cannot attend a MYTS rehearsal they should give apologies directly to the secretary before the planned rehearsal.
  • Behaviour: members must behave with respect for each other and Staff to ensure productive rehearsal time. It should be noted there will be periods of rehearsal time where members are expected to sit quietly and listen whilst others rehearse.
  • Mobile phones must not be used during rehearsal time and should remain switched off.
  • Chewing gum is not allowed during rehearsal time.
  • No eating permitted during rehearsal time though there will be a designated break for snacks.
  • You can bring a snack to be eaten during the break only and a bottle of water but all rubbish should be disposed of appropriately.
  • MYTS reserves the right to ask a member to leave the rehearsal if the terms and conditions are not adhered to. Continuous breach of the terms and conditions may lead to the member being asked to leave the society.

Parental involvement: posted 2nd September 2011

Performance of Children of Eden

It is expected that all parents contribute in some way to help us with the running of MYTS. This can be done in a variety of ways including:

  • supervising rehearsals
  • helping with costumes, make-up and props
  • scenery building
  • show promotion
  • publicity
  • selling programs & raffle tickets
  • chaperoning duties

The list is endless and it helps lessen the load for others – please let us know how you can help!
