Membership
MYTS is for people between the ages of 8 and 19 years old:
- Junior members: 8 - 13
- Senior members: 14 - 19
Once members reach the age of 16, they also have the opportunity to audition to join the adult society, with the prospect of participating in several full scale productions a year.
Auditions to join MYTS take place during the second week of the September term. Once all the places have been filled, we are unable to take any new members until the following year and we do not maintain a waiting list.
Anyone wishing to become a member may come along to the first rehearsal in September (normally the first Friday back at school) where the audition process will be explained.
During the audition, applicants will be expected to demonstrate singing ability prior to acceptance. This may sound scary, but it really isn't! We just want people to show us what they can do so we can make sure that we have a great standard of performers and it's nothing to worry about.
- new Junior members will be auditioned in groups
- new Senior members and existing Junior members wishing to become Senior members will be auditioned individually
Successful candidates may be placed on a waiting list if there are insufficient places available.
